MinJung Kim

Korean, b. 1981

MinJung Kim is a contemporary artist and the CEO of Special Arts Inc. based in Seoul, South Korea known for her calm and minimalist ink and hanji paintings. Kim initially majored in sculpture before becoming an art therapist, which became a pivotal moment in her art journey, allowing her to approach her work with sincerity and deeper understanding.

For Kim, art is about the emotional abysses within the heart and our relationship to nature, which has been an endless source of both inspiration and healing for her. The essence of her work lies in offering comfort through the inner depths of humanity and the vastness of nature. Through her work she hopes to convey the message: “It’s okay…it’s okay…it’s okay” and to provide a sense of warmth and solace to all who encounter it.
