Open Call for the Upcoming Exhibition:
Calligraphic Expressions
January 7 - February 20, 2027
This exhibition will explore the stories that remain unspoken, untranslated, and hidden beneath the surface. We are seeking artworks which explore and reimagine language and written systems in relation to visual and gestural expressions.
Application is open to all artists ages 18 and older.

Themes: Quiet reflections, writing, memory, personal narratives, poetry, letters, calligraphy, and gestural work
Call Type: Exhibition
Call Eligibility: ages 18+
Entry Fee: Includes 5 works additional $5 for each subsequent piece.
Early Application Deadline ($35): October 4, 2026. Early applications will be notified early, accepted artists will be posted as part of the exhibition on our website early, will be prioritized when uploading to our online gallery, and may be used to promote the show.
Standard Application Deadline ($45): November 1, 2026.
Exhibition Dates: January 7 - February 20, 2027.
Commission: The Gallery retains a 50% commission on all exhibition sales of artwork in off-site shows and online.
Shipping and Delivery: Accepted work may be hand-delivered or shipped prepaid to arrive no later than January 2, 2027. Artists are responsible for the delivery and return of shipping labels and costs.

Juror: Selected pieces are juried by the curators at Gallery B612.
Media: Original 2D and 3D artworks. Glass, Fiber, Jewelry, Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, Photography, Installation, and Mixed media. No AI generated or AI assisted work will be considered. Please do not submit poetry or other written work.
Timeline:
October 4: The early application process closes at midnight. Notifications will go out within three weeks.
November 1: Standard application process closes at midnight. Notifications will go out within three weeks.
Due to the time of year, we will be accepting artwork drop offs prior to the holidays:
December 17 (11am - 6pm), December 18 (11am - 6pm), December 19 (11am - 2pm): Accepted work(s) need to be dropped off or delivered to Pioneer Square location: 520 1st Ave. S, Seattle, WA, 98104
January 7 (First Thursday Art Walk) Opening Night: 5:00 pm- 9:00 pm
January 9 Gallery Reception: 12:00pm - 1:30pm
Februrary 20 Closing Reception: 12:00pm - 1:30pm
Pickup & Return Options:
Following or during the Closing Reception on February 20 ( No appointment needed -- verbal confirmation appreciated)
February 23 (11am - 6pm) and February 24 (11am - 6pm): Local Artists are to pick up their works or schedule an appointment.
Other artwork may be shipped out on a case by case basis – the Artist is responsible for shipping and return label costs.
Gallery Artwork Requirements:
All work must be original, unsold work, family-friendly, and the artist must own the sole copyright to the artwork.
Frames, mats, and wiring must be of professional quality and in good condition. No saw-tooth hangers. Wiring must be securely fashioned and support the weight of the artwork. 2D artwork selected for exhibition MUST BE READY TO HANG on our wire hanging system.
No NFS (not for sale) works will be considered for the show.
Consignment will be required for selected pieces in order to be exhibited in the show.
