Gallery B612’s Korean Rhapsody: Sijo brought Korean poetry into contemporary art through exhibition, live painting, movement, and hands-on cultural participation during Seattle Art Fair Week 2026

Gallery B612 presents Korean Rhapsody: Sijo, a Korean Cultural Week program during Seattle Art Fair Week, with support from the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Seattle and Margolis Arts Foundation. Through Sijo poetry, Korean brush painting, contemporary visual art, live performance, and Sagunja, the program invites audiences to experience Korean tradition as a living artistic language.

Bella Kim’s reimagining of Jogakbo unfolds through fragments of material, memory, and care. First presented at Gallery B612, her work brings together discarded plastic and textile into quiet, luminous compositions shaped by attention and repetition. As her practice moves beyond the gallery into a new institutional context, it continues to reflect on sustainability, making, and the act of holding what might otherwise be overlooked.

This Director’s Note introduces two solo exhibitions at Gallery B612—Metamorphosis by Karen Chang in Pioneer Square and Secret Garden by Jiamin Zhu in SoDo—exploring transformation, identity, and the space between process and emergence.

Step into Wonderland this fall at the 4th annual O-Jak Bridge Art & Dance Festival (Nov 8–9, 2025, Broadway Performance Hall, Seattle). At the 2025 Seattle International Dance Festival, MiYoung Margolis presents two multidisciplinary works—Threads of Her: Seo-Nang and Hanji Soul—where myth breathes, paper moves, and dance becomes canvas. Blending choreography with visual art, these performances honor Korean tradition while carving new space for stories told through body, breath, and hanji.
