Artist Spotlight

We have started a new series called Artist Spotlight where we will showcase pieces by artists who have exhibited their work at Gallery B612.

Our first piece is ‘Aphrodite’ by Miyoung Margolis. It's 24x30 inch mixed media monochrome painting of aqua oil pastel, charcoal and ink on canvas. The subject consists of an abstract feminine figure’s front profile. Dripping with her hair line and length forming the shape of a heart, the figure’s solemn and calm expression shows sentimental consumption by the thoughts and entrapment of love. The hair of the figure softly spreads throughout the space of the scene and crumbles into long streaking drops to the bottom of the frame edging the canvas. Beauty is about finding the right fit, the most natural fit, To be perfect, you have to feel perfect about yourself. Avoid trying to be something you're not. Bring the beauty of Aphrodite to life.
