Angela Navarro

Spanish born, b. 1976

Angela Navarro is a contemporary fine artist originally from the Mediterranean coast of Spain and currently based in Seattle, WA. Through her experiences across many countries, Navarro has developed her own personal style of storytelling through brush markings, dynamic compositions and long (long, long) titles. Navarro’s work is thematically inspired by the quotidian, and draws on her own humor to reflect on issues of self-perception and social acceptance, as a woman, a parent and as a perpetual newcomer.

Navarro’s work is a dialogue between the inner world of dreams, memories, and introspections and the outer world of nature, culture, and everyday life. Her process begins with an intuitive connection to her subject, aiming to capture the essence of fleeting moments in nature, deeply felt emotions, or abstract concepts. Her goal is to create visually striking and emotionally resonant works which inspire, heal, and transform.
