Introduction | New Assistant Curator

Gallery B612 welcomes Kelly Cook as its new Assistant Curator. Kelly has a background in art education, art history, and museum work. She most recently worked as the Curator of Education at the Boise Art Museum where she oversaw the relaunch of public educational programs following Covid closures.

Kelly has a masters degree in Art History from the University of Kent in Canterbury, UK where she focused on Ancient Greek and Roman, Renaissance, and Baroque art periods. Kelly is excited to be a part of the local Seattle art scene and eager to meet artists and art-lovers alike to discuss creative processes and personal expression.

Kelly grew up in the Willamette Valley in Oregon amongst the vineyards and Christmas tree farms. As a pacific northwesterner at heart, Kelly is happy to return to Seattle where drizzly mornings and raincoats bring a sense of coziness and comfort.

Kelly’s personal artistic passion is creative writing and can often be found holed up in a coffee shop, drinking tea and working on her most recent teen fiction SciFi novel. Kelly also creates  illustration based artworks geared toward children’s storybooks.
